The
United States District Court for the Central District of
Illinois would like to make CMECF filers aware of
certain concerns related to a software application or
“plug-in” called RECAP, which was
designed by a group from Princeton University to enable
sharing of court documents on the Internet.
Information here.
As a courtesy, the Court would like to inform you of an upcoming seminar and reception sponsored by the Bar Association of the Central and Southern Federal Districts of Illinois on October 1, 2009. The program has (or will be) approved by both Missouri and Illinois for continuing legal education credit. Professionalism credit is also anticipated from Illinois and has been approved by Missouri.
The Judicial Reception for Article III Judges of the United States Seventh Circuit will follow the seminar.
Click on the hyperlinks to see the information regarding these events. Feel free to forward it to anyone you think might be interested.

In order to support better archival preservation of court
documents, the Federal Judiciary is recommending that
all scanned documents be created using a 300 dpi
scan setting. This new setting may increase the digital
file size of a scanned document over that of one created
using a 200 dpi scan setting, as previously recommended.
The Central District of Illinois is also increasing the
maximum single-file size limit from the current 5mb to
7mb.
If you have any further questions please contact
the U.S. Clerk’s Office in your respective localities.
The Central District of Illinois is now offering free
Internet access in the Urbana, Illinois courtrooms. In order to gain access to the system you must
read the Wireless Internet Policy and sign
the acknowledgement form. Bring the signed form into the
clerk’s office to receive login information. Click here to
download connection instructions. Wireless access will soon be available in all
courthouses in the Central District.
