 The
United States District Court for the Central District of
Illinois would like to make CMECF filers aware of
certain concerns related to a software application or
“plug-in” called RECAP, which was designed by a group
from Princeton University to enable sharing of court
documents on the Internet.

In
order to support better archival preservation of court
documents, the Federal Judiciary is recommending that
all scanned documents be created using a 300 dpi
scan setting. This new setting may increase the digital
file size of a scanned document over that of one created
using a 200 dpi scan setting, as previously recommended.
The Central District of Illinois is also increasing the
maximum single-file size limit from the current 5mb to
7mb.
