For Attorneys

Special Attorney Admission Ceremony

On December 3, 1842, young Abraham Lincoln was admitted to practice before the federal court by U.S. District Judge Nathaniel Pope.  Judge Pope was the 1st Federal Judge for the District of Illinois, appointed by President James Monroe.

On the 175th ANNIVERSARY of that event, U.S. District Judge Richard Mills will conduct a special admission ceremony in the Supreme Court Room in the Old State Capitol.

This special ceremony will be conducted at 11:00 AM on December 3, 2014.

If any attorney would like to be admitted on that day, please call Michelle Eddings in our Clerk’s office (492-4020) by Monday, November 24, and she will see that the forms are sent to you.
